Call for Scores – Rucksack-Projekt
Der Klarinettist Szilárd Benes schreibt im Rahmen seines "Rucksack-Projekts" in Zusammenarbeit mit der IGNM-Sektion Österreich einen Call für neue kurze Klarinettenstücke aus. Die Ausschreibung ist offen für alle Komponist:innen ohne Altersbeschränkung.
Über das Projekt
Beim Rucksack-Projekt geht es um eine einzige Klarinette (die B-Klarinette) und eine Reihe kürzerer, aber sehr unterschiedlicher Stücke, die Szilárd zusammen "packen" und an vielen verschiedenen Orten in Österreich und im Ausland aufführen würde. Alle möglichen technischen und ästhetischen Ansätze, die sich die Komponist:innen vorstellen können, sind willkommen und erwünscht: Die Idee ist, ein vielfältiges Programm (oder Programme) aus kürzeren Stücken zu schaffen. Bislang sind insgesamt 6 Aufführungen (2 in Österreich, 4 im Ausland) in den Jahren 2024 und 2025 geplant. Jedes ausgewählte Stück wird mindestens 3 Mal aufgeführt.
Teilnahmeberechtigte
Die Ausschreibung ist offen für alle Komponist:innen ohne Altersbeschränkung.
Bedingungen für die Einreichung
Das eingereichte Stück muss neu und für den Call komponiert sein
Wenn das Werk nicht bis zum Abgabetermin fertiggestellt werden konnte, können mindestens %50 des gesamten Werks zusammen mit einem kurzen Kommentar zum Vorhaben eingereicht werden
Das Stück muss für die B-Klarinette geschrieben sein (die Verwendung weiterer
Instrumente wie z.B. die Bassklarinette ist nicht möglich)
Einsatz von Elektronik oder Verstärkung ist nicht möglich
Theatralische / performative Elemente sind möglich
Dauer: Min. 1.5 und max. 5 Minuten
Pro Komponist:in ist nur ein Stück zugelassen
Eine anonyme Einsendung ist nicht erforderlich
Einreichungsfrist
Bitte senden Sie Ihre Einreichung ausschließlich im PDF-Format bis zum 20. Februar 2024 bis spätestens 23:59 Uhr an die E-Mail Adresse clarinethaiku@gmail.com. Später eingehende Einreichungen können nicht berücksichtigt werden.
Auswahlverfahren
Eine Jury, bestehend aus Szilárd Benes und zwei Komponist:innen, werden die Einsendungen sichten und eine gemeinsame Entscheidung über die Auswahl treffen. Dabei wird neben der künstlerischen Qualität und Authentizität auch auf die Ausgewogenheit von Geschlecht und Alter geachtet. Alle teilnehmenden Komponist:innen werden voraussichtlich bis zum 1. März 2024 über die Ergebnisse informiert.

Call for Scores – Backpack Project
The clarinetist Szilárd Benes announces a call for new short clarinet pieces as part of his “Rucksack Project” in collaboration with the ISCM Austrian Section. The call is open to all composers without age restrictions.
About the Project
The Backpack Project involves a single clarinet (the Bb clarinet) and a series of shorter butvery different pieces that Szilárd would "pack" together and perform in many differentlocations in Austria and abroad. All possible technical and aesthetic approaches that thecomposers can imagine are welcome and encouraged: the idea is to create a diverseprogram (or programs) of shorter pieces. So far, a total of 6 performances (2 in Austria, 4 abroad) are planned in 2024 and 2025. Each selected piece will be performed at least 3 times.
Eligibility
The call is open to all composers of any nationality and without age restrictions.
Conditions for Submission
The piece submitted must be new and composed for the call
If the work could not be completed by the deadline, at least %50 of the entire workcan be submitted together with a short comment on the project
The piece must be written for the Bb clarinet only (the use of other instruments suchas the bass clarinet is not possible)
Use of electronics or amplification is not possible
Theatrical/performative elements are possible
Duration: Min. 1.5 and max. 5 minutes
Only one piece is permitted per composer
Anonymous submission is not required
Deadline
Please send your submission in PDF format by February 20, 2024 by 11:59 p.m. CET at the latest to the email address clarinethaiku@gmail.com. Submissions received later cannot beconsidered.
Selection process
A jury consisting of Szilárd Benes and two composers will review the submissions and makea joint decision on the selection. In addition to artistic quality and authenticity, attention is also paid to the balance of gender and age. All participating composers are expected to beinformed of the results by March 1, 2024.
