Liebe Freunde, liebe Freundinnen, liebe Kolleginnen und Kollegen!
Wir suchen für aNOther festival am 24., 25. und 26. Mai 2024 Beiträge zum Motto "connecting– musicking – story telling", die bewusst disziplinen- bzw. genre-übergreifend konzipiert sind.
Zum Motto:
Das Erzählen von Geschichten kann in gewisser Weise als zentrale Form menschlicher
Kommunikation sowie als kollektives Gedächtnis einer Gruppe von Menschen verstanden werden. Narrativität kann sich sowohl im Inhalt als auch in der Form von Musik / Kunst finden. Geschichten und unsere künstlerischen Praktiken sagen auch etwas über das Verständnis der Welt und die Verbindung zur (Um-)Welt aus, sie verorten das menschliche Sein und Künstler_in-Sein, kann aber auch interpretieren, manipulieren, täuschen. Wie kann man traditionelle Narrative in gegenwärtige Kunstformen transformieren? Welche Archetypen erscheinen immer wieder in neuen Formen? Was wäre das Dringendste, das man in Zeiten von globalen Krisen erzählen sollte? Was bleibt unerwähnt?
Alle Beiträge sollten genreübergreifend musikalisch sein oder Musik mit anderen Disziplinen kombinieren, beispielsweise:
• Musik unterschiedlichster Genres, idealerweise eher aus dem nicht rein kommerziell orientierten Bereich, (wie z.B. Neue Komposition, Improvisation, world music, fusion, Singer-Songwriter etc.)
• Performance / Installationen / Konzeptkunst
• Lecture-Performance / Wissenschafts vermittlung in künstlerischer Form
Wir interessieren uns für transdisziplinäre Zugänge und würden uns besonders über
Projektvorschläge freuen, die NICHT schon bei anderen Veranstaltern in der vorgelegten Form präsentiert wurden.
aNOther festival 2024 wird am 24. und 26. Mai 2024 im Theater an Spittelberg (Fassungsraum: 170 Plätze) stattfinden, und am 25. Mai in der Galerie Hinterland (kleinere Galerie, bei gutem Wetter auch Open Air auf der Straße möglich).
Wir suchen Beiträge in folgenden Formaten:
• Kurzer Beitrag: ca. 15 Minuten
• Längerer Beitrag: ca. 30 Minuten
• Kleine Besetzung: Solo oder Duo (ev. mit Elektronik)
• Größere Besetzung: 3-4 Mitwirkende (ev. mit Elektronik)
Auf der Basis der Einreichungen werden wir die ausgewählten Künster_innen kontaktieren, und sowohl zeitlich als auch bez. der KünstlerInnen-Honorare ein Angebot machen.

In der Galerie Hinterland ist eine Stereo-PA und ein 8-Kanal-Mischpult vorhanden. Darüber hinaus gehende technische bzw. Material-Erfordernisse müssen mit dem Gesamtbetrag der Honorare abgedeckt sein.
Falls Sie/Ihr an der Mitwirkung interessiert sind, bitten wir bis spätestens 15. März 2024 um ein Email an mail@johanneskretz.com mit folgenden Angaben:
• Titel des Projekts
• Namen aller Mitwirkenden
• Dauer des Beitrags (ca. 15 oder ca. 30 Minuten)
• Anzahl der Mitwirkenden
• Kurzbeschreibung der Idee (maximal eine halbe Seite A4)
• Links zu Videos, Tonbeispielen etc. zur Illustration der Projektidee
• Liste der technischen Erfordernisse (technical rider), die über das vor Ort vorhandene
Equipment (siehe oben) hinausgehen.
• Kontaktdaten (E-Mail von allen Mitwirkenden, Telefon, Website)
• Falls nötig: terminliche Einschränkungen (24. oder 25. oder 26.Mai 2024)
• Ein Pressefoto, das für PR-Arbeit verwendet werden darf.

Dear friends, dear colleagues!
We are looking for artistic / musical contributions to the motto "connecting – musicking – story telling" for aNOther festival on on May 24th to 26th, 2024, which are deliberately conceived across disciplines or genres.
About the motto:
In a way, storytelling can be understood as a central form of human communication as well as the collective memory of a group of humans. Narrativity can be found in both the content and the form of music/art. Stories and our artistic practices also say something about the understanding of the world and the connection to the (surrounding) world, they contextualize the human existence and being an artist, but they can also interpret, manipulate, and deceive. How can traditional narratives be transformed into contemporary art forms? Which archetypes keep reappearing in new forms? What would be the most urgent thing to tell in times of global crisis? What remains unmentioned?
All contributions should be musically diverse or combine music with other disciplines, for example:
• Music from a wide variety of genres, ideally more from the non-purely commercial-oriented field, (such as new composition, improvisation, world music, fusion, singer-songwriter, etc.).
• performance / installations / conceptual art
• lecture-performance / science mediation in artistic form
We are interested in transdisciplinary approaches and would especially welcome project proposals that have NOT already been presented by other institutions in the submitted form.
aNOther festival 2024 will take place on 24 and 26 May 2024 in Theater an Spittelberg (capacity: 170 seats), and on 25 May in the Galerie Hinterland (smaller gallery, open air on the street also possible in good weather).
We are looking for contributions in the following formats:
• Short contribution: approx. 15 minutes
• Longer contribution: approx. 30 minutes
• Small ensemble: solo or duo (possibly with electronics)
• Larger ensemble: 3-4 participants (possibly with electronics)
Based on the submissions, we will contact the selected artists and make an offer regarding both time and artist fees.

A stereo PA and an 8-channel mixer are available in the Hinterland Gallery. Any additional technical or material requirements must be covered by the total amount of fees.

• Title of the project
• Names of all contributors
• Duration of the contribution (approx. 15 or approx. 30 minutes) • Number of contributors
• Short description of the idea (maximum half a page of A4)
• Links to videos, sound samples etc. to illustrate the project idea
• List of technical requirements (technical rider) that go beyond the equipment available on site (see above).
• Contact details (e-mail of all contributors, telephone, website)
• If necessary: scheduling restrictions (24th or 25th or 26th May 2024)
• A press photo that may be used for PR work.
